Lillian E. Benson

Benson is the first African-American woman to become a member of American Cinema Editors and in 2022 they honored her with their Career Achievement Award for her body of work. She serves on the ACE board of directors as Secretary and is a member of the board of directors of the Motion Picture Editors Guild. She chairs the ACE Diversity in Editing Mentoring Committee and co-chairs the Motion Picture Editors Guild's Diversity Committee. In 2017 she received the Editors Guild's prestigious Fellowship and Service Award. Benson is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Film Editors Branch and the Television Academy.
