Do You Need a DIT on Your Doc? Thursday, March 2, 2017 Von Thomas, DIT and Cinematographer will discuss the position of a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) on your next documentary.  The DIT position was created in response to the transition from the long established film movie camera medium into the current digital cinema era. 

On Thursday, February 2, 2017 our BADWest meeting will be How to Form a Production Company and Option Agreements  with guest panelist, Attorney Jaia Thomas.  Jaia Thomas will walk attendees through a step-by-step process of forming a production company as well as provide an overview of key legal distinction between entity structures. Ms. Thomas will also discuss the ins and outs of Option and Purchase Agreements

Every documentary film needs some form of research whether it be researching your family tree or bringing life to historical events. Coming up on Thursday, January 5, 2017 our BADWest meeting is How To Research For Your Doc....Mostly on the Cheap with guest panelist, BADWest member Toni Bell.  Researching documentaries doesn't have to be a painful process. Instead, understanding some simple steps on how to research efficiently can help you to make the process simple and easy. As such, it is important to first - form revealing questions, then find a variety of sources to answer those questions such as written sources, visual sources, and intrarpersonal sources.
