4th Monday Free Screening Series 2017 Submissions

Written by 28 Oct,2016

BADWest is happy to announce we are now accepting submissions for the St. Clair Bourne 4th Monday Free Screening Series for 2017. The series is part of our community outreach mission to provide notable documentaries with topics of interest to the Black community. The series also provides a platform for new, emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their work. The screenings are held the 4th Monday of each month at the Mayme Clayton Library and Museum, 4130 Overland Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230.

Requirements for documentary film submissions in the St. Clair Bourne 4th Monday Free Screening Series are:

  • Must be a documentary film.
  • All documentaries must be feature length (60 minutes or more).
  • The film's content must deal with Black issues and themes.
  • The filmmaker (director, producer or both) does not necessarily have to be of African descent, but it is a plus.
  • If it is a foreign language film, it must have English subtitles.
  • Films must be submitted electronically with a link and password to the website where the film can be screened for consideration.
  • If the film is selected, you will be notified via email. We request you send the film on DVD/Blu-Ray to the BADWest address listed on your acceptance letter, along with a stamped, return-addressed envelope.
  • Once a film is selected, we encourage the filmmaker to attend the post screening discussion, but it is not mandatory.
