Nikiea is a graphic designer, self-publishing advocate, youth mentor and filmmaker from East Baltimore. Nikiea's filmmaking career began as a teenager documenting the history of East Baltimore. Today her first feature film, a powerful 12-year documentary Anatomy of Wings highlights the lives of 10 girls growing into women with the unwavering support of a group of diverse mentors in Baltimore. 

As a multimedia storyteller, Nikiea’s passion in supporting authors started as a little girl helping her grandmother pitch poetry and short stories to publishers for decades. As the founder of ButterflyBlue Publishing, she encourages authors to tell their stories boldly and to confidently navigate publishing. While still a new company, ButterflyBlue Publishing focuses on authentically uplifting voices of Black youth, women and men. 

With all of the accomplishments and professional jobs Nikiea holds, her most important occupation is "new mommy" by caring for her son, Ashton.
