Fay Hauser-Price, aka Fay Hauser loves to dip her hands, head, and heart into all forms of creativity. For television, Fay segment directed the documentary “Hope Builders: Making A Difference In The Inland Empire” which won two 2021 TELLY Awards in directing and Social Impact, and “Emerging Artist Showcase” both airing on PBS. She was a Producer/Writer/Director on over 25 reality/documentary TV shows including “Paris In Search of A Dream, ” "24/SEVEN" series, and the 26 episode international jazz show, starring Nancy Wilson, “Red, Hot and Cool.” She also was producer/director the 26-episode home décor series, “Living With Soul” for TVOne, which garnered a Vision Award nomination.
She is in production on a new documentary, Bethania: The Extraordinary Ordinary which celebrates the strength of “family” in a mufti-racial one that has celebrated more than 100 years of reunions.
As a film director, Fay Hauser-Price, wrote and produced the festival favorite narrative short films “Where There’s Smoke...” and “5150,” receiving Best Experimental Short, nominated for Best Short USA, airing on “BET’s Lens on Talent,” screening on the BHERC Film Cruise and at the National Black Theatre Festival. Fay is currently working on the script for an action-adventure film called Surfmen about an all-black crew rescuing a schooner in a 1890s hurricane.
As a theater director, Fay wrote and helmed several productions for The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival, including the highly successful “Melodies In Motion” which she scripted and MC’d in spoken word. As theater was challenged in 2020 with the coronavirus shutdown, Fay successfully designed and directed 2 online virtual theater festivals where up to 17 performers and 12 celebrity hosts entertained audiences hungry for engaging, thought-provoking theater. She also produced and/or directed the LAWTF promo with Danny Glover, their cable TV show, and GALA celebration. Fay directed, co-wrote and co-produced 6 multi-media concerts including “A Gift of Song” and "A Few of my Favorite Things" performed by Louis Price, former lead of The Temptations. The 2-hour 3 camera DVDs she directed of these R&B, Jazz, Gospel, and Pop concerts provide a lasting memory of these standing ovation musical treats.
As an actor, Fay has starred in television, film and theater. She is credited as Fay Hauser, in the series “Shameless”, Jordan Peele’s “Weird City,” Norman Lear’s “Guess Who Died,” “ER,” “Good Times”, and the feature “Candyman II” naming just a few. In addition, she recurred in “Roots II” as Carrie Barden and “The Young and The Restless” as Selena Wiley, winning an Outstanding Cast Emmy.
In theater, Fay has performed in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" as Viola, and "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" as Dussie Mae. She was in the National tour of "Purlie" plus performed her solo show "Jewels In The Crown,” and multi-media show “American Heritage” to enthusiastic audiences around the country. She is at work on a new solo piece, “Shinning Hauslights on Prejudice Alley: A Mixed Roots Conversation.” Upcoming 2021 Acting projects are: “The Myth of Control, a streaming series and “Bed and Breakfast”, a feature film in which she stars.
Fay Hauser-Price is a published songwriter, with a song sampled and released in 2019, - “Some People,” a poet, wife and mother. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Psychology and Dramatic Arts, as well as a member of the DGA, SAG/AFTRA, AEA, ASCAP, ATAS, and NARAS.
Hope Builders: Making A Difference In The Inland Empire
This one-hour documentary highlights six shining examples of the best in the City of San Bernardino which has been labeled one of the most impoverished communities in California. Each of the 6 directors brought their prospective as they focused on the cultures of food, work, environment, gender, and education and how community members are building a new image for the place they call home. Fay’s segment, “Turning Barton”, focused on an innovative arts immersion elementary school.
